She is currently privately owned at Tyseley locomotive works 25265 was withdrawn by British Rail from Crewe Diesel Depot in March 1987 - she is now preserved at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough 27059 was a July 1987 withdrawal by British Rail, she is preserved at the Severn Valley Railway in Worcestershire. 31200 was withdrawn in January 1996 from Wigan Springs Branch. She was finally scrapped in June 2007 at C.F Booths in Rotherham 37174 is seen with Class 52 Western Courier was withdrawn by British Rail in August 1974 from Old Oak Common and is preserved at the Severn Valley Railway in Worcestershire, whilst D7018 was withdrawn by British Rail in March 1975 and is now preserved at the West Somerset Railway " /> 37174 was a January 2005 withdrawal by EWS from Toton Depot, she was cut up at EMR Kingsbury in April 2008 40122 - or D200 - was an April 1988 withdrawal from Crewe Diesel Depot and is now at the NRM in York. Today the line survives and still sees use to the Holbrooks Prologis Park mainly for bottled mineral water from France. Its TOPS number is 98460 08603 was withdrawn by British Rail from Bescot Yard in January 1994, and was scrapped at Long Marston, Warwickshire in August 1994 08709 was an August 2008 withdrawal from Bescot, she is still there in the Tactical Stored (WNTS) pool, 08466 was an August 2009 withdrawal from Toton Yard - as with 08709 she to is in the WNTS pool. 08783 was withdrawn by EWS from Bescot Yard in May 2008 and is currently stored at Toton, 08877 is still in use as a depot pilot at Wigan Springs Branch whilst 08824 was withdrawn in July 2005 and is currently used internally at Crewe IEMD 20040 was withdrawn by British Rail in August 1991 from Toton, she was scrapped by MC Metals in Glasgow during February 1992 20045 was withdrawn in August 1990 from Toton by British Rail, as with 20040 she was also scrapped at MC Metals in Glasgow in September 1991 31188 is seen at Nuneaton with another classmate, most probably at the helm of the Bedworth tanks. 31188 was finally withdrawn in January 1999 and was scrapped at TJ Thompson's in Stockton during September 2008 31238 and 31203 is seen at Nuneaton. 31238 was withdrawn in May 1996 from Wigan Springs Branch and was scrapped also at Wigan in June 1999 whilst 31203 faired a little better, being withdrawn in July 2000 at Old Oak Common and is now preserved at the Chasewater Light Railway 31431, latterly 31531 was withdrawn in January 1995 from Toton Depot, and was scrapped at T.J Thompsons scrapyard in Stockton during July 2003 An un-id Class 31 is seen inside Doncaster Works during an Open Day 33052 was withdrawn in February 1997 from Stewarts Lane in London. Hapily she made into preservation and can be found at the Kent and East Sussex Railway 37053 became 37344 and eventually withdrawn from Immingham Depot by EWS in July 1996. Sadly she was scrapped at C.F Booths in Rotherham in March 2006 37073 didn't survive the cutter's torch either. She was withdrawn by EWS in November 2000 from Wigan Springs Branch and was scrapped by I Riley Engineering at Bury (E.L.R) 37517 was withdrawn by EWS in January 2005 from Wigan Springs Branch, she still survives and is based at West Coast Railway's Carnforth base 47063 was a September 1995 withdrawal from Tinsley Depot. She was scrapped by MRJ Philips at Crewe Works in November 1996 47234 was stored by Freightliner in 2000, however she was refurbished to become one of the 57/3 47474 <i>Sir Rowland Hill</i> was withdrawn in March 2000 from Crewe Diesel Depot. She was scrapped in October 2005 at T.J Thompson's in Stockton 47482 was withdrawn by British Rail back in October 1993 from Crewe Diesel Depot. She was scrapped by MRJ Phillips at Crewe Works in June 1995 47605 is seen at Birmingham New Street. 33019 <i>Griffon</i> resides in the sidings just North of Shackerstone Station. As with 31130, this was Shackerstone Junction for the line to Coalville and Loughborough Derby Road, which although lost its passenger service in 1931, the line eventually closed in 1964 whilst the main N&AJR finally closed in 1971 A black and white shot of 33019 <i>Griffon</i> 31130 <i>Calder Hall Power Station</i> sits in the sidings just North of Shackerstone Station. In happier times this was where the N&AJR split towards Loughborough Derby Road, whilst the mainline carried on towards Ashby and Burton On Trent. Some small boats in Fishguard Bay A small boat in Fishguard Bay The engines of the <i>Stena Europe</i> are started up at Fishguard prior to departing on the 14:30 sailing to Rosslare Harbour on the 14th May The <i>Stena Europe</i> departs the berth at Fishguard Harbour on the 14th May The walkways at Fishguard Harbour which allows foot passengers to walk on/off the ship. The train stops adjacent to the ferry and as such changing between rail and sea is easy This is actually the town of Fishguard on the otherside of Fishguard Bay , the harbour is in fact located in the town of Goodwick A somewhat panoramic shot of Fishguard Harbour, notice the wake of the ship The lighthouse on the Fishguard Harbour breakwater. At a cost of E6 one way or E12 return. Not bad value really when you consider the only alterative route of the immense River Barrow is on the main N25 road via New Ross. The N25 linking Rosslare Harbour to Cork The centrepiece of the Barrow Railway Bridge, is the revolving span which allows tall ships to pass through The Grey Island Power Station, which again is on the shore of the River Barrow. The immense Barrow Bridge is just off to the left of the photo One fine piece of engineering is the Barrow Railway Bridge, which obviously crosses the River Barrow. The railway runs between Waterford and Rosslare Harbour. At the time of this photo being taken there is only 1 return train a day which runs over the bridge between Waterford and Rosslare Harbour. There also use to be the sugar beet trains from Wellingtonbridge but sadly these ceased a couple of years ago A busy scene at Rosslare Harbour on the evening of 18 May as the <i>Diplomat</i> cargo ship and the passenger ferry <i>Isle of Inishmore</i> stand side by side The last few lorries are loaded on the <i>Stena Europe</i> before setting off for the 210 minute crossing to Fishguard Harbour The terminal building at Rosslare Harbour, the trains no longer stop here but instead a small platform has been constructed just off to the right-hand side. Rosslare is served by trains from Dublin and less frequently from Limerick Junction and Waterford A sign of the times as the track on the headland at Rosslare Harbour is being taken up. The line opened in 1873, passenger traffic didn't live up to expectations and local passenger traffic ceased in April 1931 although the line was still used for freight and occasional long distance and charter traffic. The line was closed by British Rail in 1971 and was kept as a long siding to store condemned rolling stock.
